Hakone-Yumoto is the gateway to Hakone and one of the most convenient places to stay.

Hotel Okada(ホテルおかだ) : Scenic Terrace & Elegant Ryokan
Hotel Okada stands out for its spacious public areas and elegant atmosphere.
The observation terrace was my favorite place in the property. Sitting there after a bath and looking out over the mountains as evening approached was a surprisingly memorable experience.
If you appreciate beautiful shared spaces as much as the guest room itself, I think you’ll enjoy staying here.

Hotel Nanpuso(ホテル南風荘) : Warm Hospitality & Spacious Comfort
Hotel Nanpuso is a ryokan where traditional Japanese hospitality is part of the experience.
During my family stay, everyone—from grandparents to children—found something to enjoy. The atmosphere felt welcoming throughout the property, making it an easy place to relax together.
Another highlight was the dining. Both dinner and breakfast were memorable, and sharing beautifully prepared Japanese meals became one of the best parts of our stay.

Yoshiike Ryokan(吉池旅館) : Japanese Gardens & Natural Onsen
Yoshiike Ryokan offers a completely different atmosphere from the larger resort-style properties in Hakone-Yumoto.
The beautifully maintained Japanese garden is the heart of the ryokan, and walking through it before or after a soak in the hot springs was one of my favorite experiences.
If you’re looking for a quieter stay surrounded by nature and traditional scenery, Yoshiike is an excellent choice.

Tenseien(天成園) : An Onsen Theme Park with Gardens, a Shrine & Waterfalls
Tenseien feels like an onsen theme park rather than a traditional ryokan.
Large hot springs are just the beginning. The property also features beautiful gardens, a waterfall, a small shrine, foot baths, and plenty of places to relax, making it easy to spend an entire day enjoying everything on site.
It’s a great choice for travelers who want more than just an overnight stay.
