A 7-minute walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station.

As I cross a small bridge and leave the crowds behind, the atmosphere becomes noticeably quieter.

Waiting on the other side is Yoshike Ryokan, a historic Japanese inn surrounded by peace and tranquility.

For many years, Yoshike Ryokan has been regarded as one of Hakone’s most beloved traditional ryokan by hot spring enthusiasts.

Of all the places I have visited in Hakone, this is the place where I feel the beauty of Hakone’s nature and traditional culture most strongly.

In this article, I’d like to share the timeless beauty, traditional hospitality, and quiet charm that keep drawing me back to Yoshike Ryokan.

The Elegant Atmosphere of a Traditional Ryokan

When I entered the building, the first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful garden view through the large lobby windows..

I was impressed by the elegant atmosphere created by the comfortable sofas and traditional furnishings.

As I walked through the long hallways, the garden was always visible through the windows.

Soft carpets line the floors, while natural wood beams and pillars add warmth and character to the space.

The ryokan is also filled with beautiful paintings and decorative pieces, making it enjoyable simply to walk around and explore.

Guest Rooms

Now, let’s take a look at the guest room area.

Unfortunately, I have never stayed overnight at Yoshike Ryokan, so I don’t have any photos of the guest rooms.

Instead, I would like to share a few room photos courtesy of Yoshike Ryokan’s official website.

There are some newly renovated rooms available now, which look very nice.

However, if I were to stay here, I would choose a traditional tatami room with views of the garden.

For me, staying at a ryokan isn’t complete without sleeping on a futon in a Japanese-style room‼

Imagine waking up in a traditional tatami room and opening the curtains to a peaceful garden view.

After soaking in the natural hot spring, you can enjoy a traditional Japanese breakfast while overlooking the garden.

This is the kind of experience that makes a stay at Yoshike Ryokan so appealing.

Hoshintei: Garden-View Dining

This is where guests enjoy breakfast and dinner during their stay.

A few years ago, I had a meal at Hoshintei with my mother and my son.

The beautifully prepared Japanese set meal was excellent.

Enjoying it while overlooking the beautiful Japanese garden made for a truly memorable experience.

Hot Springs

The hot springs are fed directly by a natural source.

It offer beautiful views of the Japanese garden.

The open-air bath and the all-hinoki cypress bath were among the best hot spring experiences of my life.

I’ve shared a more detailed review in a separate article.
